5 Twitter Do’s and Don’ts For Internet Marketers
As we all know Twitter has become a force to be reckoned with. With it’s easy interface and numerous external tools it has exploded into the limelight with everyone jumping aboard. As you know, even celebrities have joined the scene. However, as it relates to us internet marketers, there seems to be some confusion over how it should and shouldn’t be used. So I will attempt to give you some do’s and don’ts that will help make your twitter experience a successful one.
Do’s
1. Tweet interesting or informative stuff.
-You should try to give value to your followers.
2. Follow people who are in your niche.
-This will help to ensure that your followers will be interested in what you have to say.
3. Tweet at least 3 to 4 times a day.
-You don’t want to be annoying, but you want to be involved.
4. Remember to RT others.
-People like to see their stuff retweeted, it makes them feel special!
5. Fill out your profile and picture.
-This will help show you as a serious marketer.
Don’ts
1. Auto DM with a link to your website.
-This is one of your first contacts with your follower so you don’t want to be seen as a spammer!
2. Constantly talk about yourself.
-You want to be engaged in conversations with others, not having a one way conversation about you.
3. Post links only to your website.
– Share a variety of information and make it interesting or helpful, then input your links sparingly.
4. DON’T use foul language.
-Please just don’t do this, it’s very unprofessional.
5. Don’t forget to be personable.
-Remember that this is a social network, so remember to be social!
