How to Make Money Online with Twitter
Unless youâve been hiding under a rock for the past year, you have undoubtedly heard of the latest web craze, Twitter. This very popular micro-blogging and social networking site allows users to follow one another and update their status via âTweets.â Each Tweet is visible to all of that personâs followers and anyone else that somehow comes across his or her profile. Itâs a really simple concept, and it may seem far-fetched that anyone could actually make money from a short 160 character post about what they ate for lunch or a bad movie that they just watched. However, this simplicity has actually proven to be a remarkably powerful marketing tool, and Twitter has now taken the internet world by storm. Whether you are a professional blogger or internet marketer, or a college kid or house mom trying to make a few extra bucks, Twitter is an excellent resource that cannot be overlooked as a means of making money online. Countless programs have emerged that provide users with easy ways of making money through their Twitter accounts. And of course there is always affiliate marketing through Twitter to consider as well. But the focus of this post will be on one of the easiest and most effective programs that enables you to make money from your Tweets called RevTwt.How It WorksRevTwt is a free service that allows Twitter users to post ads in their Tweets. Each time someone clicks on one of your ads, you get paid anywhere from $0.02 to $0.25. Itâs as simple as that. You can select from a huge variety of ads that are organized by categories like âHealth and Fitness,â âMake Money,â or âTravel.â This is nice because it allows you to post ads that are related to your interests or that relate to your niche if you have a blog or other website. If you are too busy or just lazy, RevTwt also has an auto-post feature that will Tweet up to 3 ads per day for you, so you literally donât have to do anything but wait for clicks and money to accumulate. How Much Money Can You Make?A few cents per click may seem pretty miniscule, but let me tell you, it really starts to add up, especially if you have a lot of followers viewing your Tweets. The ads are usually pretty intriguing and even one ad per day can generate quite a few clicks. Also, RevTwt has a really generous referral program that pays you 20% of all of the money your referred members earn for life. So if you have a blog or website, you can definitely refer a lot of other people and start making money off of their earnings too. RevTwt even allows you to add up to 10 different Twitter accounts, so you can really post a lot of ads and get a lot of clicks if you are motivated enough. Personally, I signed up with two Twitter accounts and within a week I already had 15 referrals and about 90 clicks. And my numbers continue to rise. So if you havenât already checked it out, be sure to look into getting a free RevTwt account today.A Few Last Words of AdviceI have nothing but positive remarks about the RevTwt program, and it has definitely increased my online earnings with very little extra work. The only caution I would give is not to post too many ads in one day. For one, Twitter doesnât like spammers and this can potentially get your account suspended. And also, the more ads you post, the more annoying you can be to your followers and the less likely they will be to click on the links. This can also be a problem if you use the auto-post feature. I usually post about 2-3 ads per day mixed in with about 10 regular Tweets and I have had some pretty amazing results. Check out RevTwt to try it for yourself!
How to Get Started on Twitter: The Basics
What is Twitter? Twitter is a free website for social networking and micro blogging that can be updated instantly, almost like text messaging online. Twitter users range from the typical person to business owners and professionals and even celebrities. Iâm sure you have heard about the faceoff a few weeks ago between Ashton Kutcher and CNN.  Although, I am in the internet business, never before have I adopted a social networking tool as I have twitter. Why? Maybe because within moments of launching my twitter account it drove traffic to my website and generated a few leads. Thatâs when a light bulb went off and I saw the potential that twitter offers to businesses, with just a little investment of your time.
I am going to explain the basics of getting started with twitter in this article followed by two other articles in the coming weeks that will show you how you can use twitter for your business.
Creating a Twitter.com Account.
Setting up and creating a twitter account is free and very easy.  Simple go to twitter.com, click on the Get Started â Join button and fill out your name, username, email address and password. When choosing a username, it is wise either to use your name if you are the person behind your brand or company, since itâs more personal and will allow you to connect with people more organically. You may also choose your business name or a keyword related to your business such as web design in the case of my business. Try not to get too creative. Once you have filled in all the fields you will get an option that ask if you would like to check to see if any of your friends are using twitter by searching for them using aol, gmail or yahoo. Feel free to check an if they are follow your friends and have them follow you back, itâs a great way to get you started, but you are not just on twitter to keep track of your friends, you are their to generate new business and hopefully your friends already know what you do.
Customizing your Twitter account.
There are many uses for twitter, such as personal promotion, business promotion, event tracking, corporate branding, customer relationship development and more. For this reason you have several options available to you via twitter to achieve these goals.

Â
Start Using Twitter. Make Your First Tweet.
In order to start using twitter, it asks one simply question, that you must answer in 140 characters or less, what are you doing? This question is at the top of the page once you log in to your twitter account, you will see a box that you can type your message or update in.  Since twitter or tweeting as it is called when you answer a question or make a post is like an instant message and updated in real time for others to see, simply hit the update button after typing your message or update.
Now you know the basics to get you started using Twitter  go out there and start finding, following and tweeting all your new “tweeple.”  Stay tuned in the comming weeks for more on using twitter to acquire new customers for your business.

Twitter is Profitable to Everyone
Twitter has struggled for a long time to find a profitable business model. The wait is finally over and the microblogging site has turned a profit. Twitter will make search deals with Google and Microsoftâs Bing for $25 million. The deal will make tweets searchable by both search engines â Google will generate approximately $15 million and Bing will fetch $10 million.
While Twitter is only now seeing the fruits of their labor, entrepreneurs and companies have been monetizing millions of Twitter users for some time now. Recently, Dell surpassed $3 million it made by using Twitter earlier this year to reach an astonishing $6.5 million through business referrals. Beyond business referrals, sponsored tweets and direct advertising have been profitable revenue streams for many companies. Here are ways companies are making money from Twitterâs users:
Business Referrals
Dell is seeing profits increase in lock step with their rise in popularity on Twitter. Brand Republic reported, the Delloutlet account (@Delloutlet) has recently grown from 640,000 followers to 1,468,249. Over $1 million has been made from @Delloutlet referrals for their âcertified refurbs, scratch and dent and previously ordered new Dell products.â Furthermore, Dellâs Twitter operation in Brazil @DellnoBrasil has turned a profit of $800,000 in eight months. Twitter is a powerful business referral tool. For those influencers â like Dell â at the upper echelons, referrals can generate significant revenue. While you might not see direct revenues from your Twitter account, business referrals can make a significant impact on your bottom line.
Sponsored Tweets
More direct ways of making money have been through sponsored tweets. Essentially, a company leverages your followers to increase their brand awareness and traffic referrals through your tweets. Twitter has arguably become more of a âspammyâ site due to these techniques. Furthermore, the FTCâs blogging crackdown takes aim at these often times elusive practices. To create more transparency in sponsored links, Brian Solis suggests incorporating â$,â âsponâ and âpaidâ into endorsements. Twitter still remains very much like the wild west â with little order or regulation.
Direct Advertising
Banner ads generate profitable revenues on blogs and online news publications, why not Twitter? Magpie & Friends has built an advertising platform that pays users to sell their…

Twitter and Twitter Search: To Tweet or Not to Tweet
In February this year, when a meagrely Twitter population of self-promoters and internet junkies was suddenly invaded by hoards and hoards of regular people, something quite special happened.
A community appeared which represented a reasonable cross-section of society, happily donating their thoughts and feelings to a bottomless database of information, all instantly accessible through Twitter Search.
Twitter & the collective consciousness
What we have now with Twitter Search is a meaningful barometer of the collective consciousness, along with the ability to react to tiny shifts in that consciousness, as and when they occur.
With more than 10 million users (even if 90% of tweets come from 10% of users), Twitter Search provides a fascinating window into people’s thoughts, beliefs and attitudes, about pretty much any subject in the public eye.
Whether it’s the latest Susan Boyle revelation, shock success of the BNP or simply the fact that it’s Friday (Twitter’s trending topics currently lists the acronym ‘TGIF’), if something is happening, people will be tweeting about it.
Reacting to complaints
Some companies have already made good use of the opportunities available through Twitter. Comcast’s director of digital care, Frank Eliason, regularly searches Twitter for the word Comcast (and, allegedly, ‘Comcrap’), to react directly to any customers’ issues that they happened to have mentioned on Twitter.
Comcast has had around 30,000 Twitter interactions in the last year. Eliason said that the initiative has been a success, customer-relations wise, because: ‘It’s a little more personal. More back-and-forth discussions and it’s less formal. And it gives immediacy to interactions.’
Wholefoods also reacts to complaints on Twitter, with replies including the cheerily personal: ‘Sorry to hear that your soup was cold. Let me know which store it was and I’ll see if I can get you in touch with the store team leader.’
Tweeting special offers to followers
Another way to engage with customers on Twitter is to build a community with some sort of incentive to check what you’re tweeting, and to respond to their questions to reinforce the connection.
A number of street food businesses have used Twitter to alert customers to when they’re in town. An LA company called Magic Curry Cart, which offers spicy tacos in a moving truck, alerted customers to when they were in town, and responded to one Tweet with: ‘Yes the magic curry kart offer[s] both vegetarian and chicken options’.
What should you do?
While it may not be appropriate for all companies to react to their customers’ tweets, it can never hurt to just take a look for you own brand name and find out what kind of Twitter-press it’s getting.
The information can then be used in a number of ways – to assess brand loyalty, pick up on recurring problems and deal with them, and even, once you’ve got the hang of it, to interact with Twitter users on a one-to-one level.
Ideally, though, you’ll think of something so brilliant and fresh to do on Twitter that your brand name will become part of Twitter history and gain infamy simply through endless Twitter articles like this one.

How Many Users Does Twitter Have?
Twitter is without a doubt one of, if not the fastest growing web application that we have seen. Just one year ago very few people were using or talking about it, and now it is all over the place, with mainstream celebrities joining it every day.
But how big is Twitter? How many user accounts are there?
That is a question that many have been asking, with no official answer yet.
One way that we have to estimate that number is based on the unique user ID that each account has. You can see that number by browsing over the URL of the RSS feed of a specific account.
Here is a screenshot of an account I created a couple of minutes ago:
Could we say that Twitter has 25 million accounts? Probably not, because that would mean that the user IDs are being assigned sequentially, which might not be the case.
But there is certainly a pattern on the user ID numbers.
Right after taking the screenshot I created three more accounts, and their respective user IDs were: 25,272,447, 25,272,534 and 25,272,591.
Each account was created around 10 seconds after the other, and as you can see by the numbers, between them we had 87 and 57 different IDs.
Were those 87 and 57 ID numbers new accounts being created by other users? Again we can’t say for sure. It all depends on how Twitter is handling the user ID assignment internally.
Here is a quote quote that I found from a person who analyzed the pattern:
I took some samples of the public timeline about a year ago and examined the unique user IDs. Although the pattern of ID assignment changes, in the early days at least Twitter would alternate between from sequential to non-sequential, with the latter being in increments of 10.
So the first 13,753 were sequential, followed by a run up to 754363 where they likely incremented by 10s. At 754439 they again went to sequential until 824222, and at 824331 through 5281761 again incremented by 10s (last digit ending in 1). In my dataset from that period – which is not inclusive of all accounts – showed increments by 10s with the last digit ending in 2.
I strongly suspect that a respectable estimate would be to simply divide the maximum ID by 10.
According to that person, therefore, Twitter is using a mix of sequential and deca increments on the user IDs. He suggests dividing the total number of accounts by 10 to find an estimate. That would translate to around 2.5 million Twitter users as of today.
I think that perhaps dividing the total by number by 5 could yield a better estimate, putting the mark at 5 million users.
Do you think that number is about right? Do you have other information that we can use to refine that estimation?

5 Reasons To Avoid Twitter, And Why You Should Not
If you are not familiar with Twitter then you are probably not up to speed on social networking. But if you have not decided to create a Twitter account, you are definitely not alone. Many internet marketers are wary of using Twitter for a number of reasons. Here are the top 5.
1. Useless Information. It is true that many Twitter users update their Twitters with completely useless information. Do you really need to know that someone just finished their second cup of coffee or is leaving the office early for a pedicure? The good news is that if you find that you do not particularly enjoy a person’s tweets, you do not have to continue following them. But do not eliminate this option altogether. One of the most important aspects of Web 2.0 is engaging people in all aspects of their lives, even the mundane stuff. Share yourself, welcome the opportunity to let others share themselves with you, and you will go a long way toward building a loyal customer base. People are much more willing to do business with you if they think you have a vested interest in their needs and thoughts.
2. It is a Waste of My Time. This is probably the most valid reason of all. But the truth is that many marketers generate traffic and leads when potential customers find them through Twitter. When the content you share is relevant and high-quality, you can drive visitors to your website to learn more. Twitter is simply another tool for online marketing, so do not write it off until you have given it a shot to see what it can do for you. Do some of your own research to discover the multitude of business uses for Twitter and you might just be convinced that It is not a total waste of time after all.
3. It is Time-Consuming. Like any online endeavor, you can blow a lot of valuable time following your streams and entering your own tweets. But you can salvage some of your time by using RSS feeds to follow relevant conversations. Visit http://search.twitter.com and click on the link to Feed for this query. You can then follow the conversations that are most important and relevant to you and your business. If that is not optimal for you, simply discipline yourself to check only once or twice per day.
4. Twitter Does not Cater to My Customers. Before you decide that your customers are not on Twitter, look for yourself. Go to http://Search.Twitter.com. Search for the name of your company, the name of your product, and keywords relevant to your business. If you are afraid that your market may be too niche-y for Twitter, remember that your job as a marketer is to find people where they are. If there are a few folks on Twitter within your niche, put yourself there as well.
5. It Could Lead to Bad Press. Whether you are on Twitter or not, people are still talking about you, and you need to know about it. Even if there is poor feedback on Twitter, you need the opportunity to let folks know that you are aware and that you are going to do something about whatever it is that has disappointed them. If you respond quickly to the concerns of your detractors, you will go a long way towards putting out potentially damaging fires. Thoughtful responses make a huge difference in customer attitudes. Remember that if a critical mass of bloggers pick up on negative press and write about it themselves, things can get out of hand very quickly. On the other hand, you can make a great name for yourself if you address customer concerns promptly and tactfully.
There you have it. No more excuses for avoiding Twitter. Even if you think It is the most ridiculous tool ever invented, you still need to check it out for yourself. Give it some time and see what it can do for you. Explore different applications of this valuable tool and let it help you grow your business.

Simply Twitter Your Business!
One of the most highly touted social networking sites on the internet now is Twitter. It is highly praised, simply because you can easily incorporate it in your daily business routine. If you’ve “tweeted” before, you probably know that it’s a great tool for chatting among friends and fellow online business owners. For those who haven’t, let’s get started with Twitter.
First, you create a Twitter account this is free and would only take a few minutes to get going. Simply go to www.twitter.com and sign up. When you set up your account, don’t forget to fill in your URL and a little something about yourself or your business.
Next thing to do is to begin following other Twitter users. You can do this by just saving their pages to your web browser bookmark or, the simplest way, by clicking the “Follow” button under their name once you’ve found their page. Following someone simply means receiving Twitter updates.
Now, it’s time for you to let others know that you have joined Twitter so that they can follow your updates too. You can search for people by name or username, import friend from other networks, posting on your blog something about Twitter or simply invite friends via e-mail. Scripts can also be added to your blog or website that will retrieve your recent “tweets” and post them for your visitors to see.
You have the ability to use your Twitter page and see what’s happening with others. You can also download such application as Twhirl to have instant messaging style software on your computer to see all your posts and the posts of those you follow.
Now that you’re all set up, simply login to your Twitter account open up your Twhirl software and start sending messages. Just as with any other social networking site, Twitter can easily eat up your time if not monitored carefully. So, it’s a good reason to devote your time wisely preferably, for a start, 15 minutes each day. You can easily plan this with your daily morning habit of checking your email over a cup of coffee or just before retiring at night.
Anytime something interesting is happening in your business, just “tweet” so that your followers will know your updates. As with any marketing tool, don’t just bombard Twitter with your links. Personalize it and establish your expertise in your corner. Be friendly and observant to others as well and surely you’ll go a long way with Twitter.
Results of your twittering efforts are not seen at once but that’s fine. What is important is to begin to get your name recognized and be a regular contributor. The more posts and the more you incorporate the service into your daily business routine, the more recognized you’ll become. Surely, people do want to know the latest with you and your business and in time, you will be linked over and over again by other users.

Twitter users are prime prospects for insomnia treatment, since most stay up until the wee hours tweeting to their hearts content and as we all know, it is not so easy to fall asleep once birds start singing outside or your neighbour is singing in the shower! Of course getting off Twitter may actually solve this problem, but would you really want to? Of course not. You get paid for sleeping on the job as well and in most jobs sleeping is not considered gross misconduct, so compensation is due if your services are no longer needed.Hugging Business
Everyone needs a good hug once in a while and Twitter users need them more than any. Having a hug delivery service would serve all Twitter users well. There are actually organisations offering free hugs, but that would mean having to get out on the street and log off Twitter, essentially a no-go. Better have the hug delivered straight to your doorstep. There would have to be a good selection of huggers available of course, depending on what kind of hug you want, strong or soft, caring or dramatic!
Power Nap Businesses
Clearly loss of sleep due to Tweeting must be made back somewhere and work seems to be a good solution. Now if only there were a company that delivered a soft pillow and blanket on demand. What a massive success that would be to have a goose feather pillow delivered to you in the lunch break or during another “very important” evaluation meeting! Remember, science has already approved of power napping!24 Hour Concierge
Twittering is an exhausting business. And with no refreshments how can you keep yourself ready and alert. 24 hour delivery of soft drinks and snack would take care of that problem. Macadamia nuts and lemon juice or your favourite candy bar, with no fuss and no disapproving looks from the others in supermarket line. Or your bellboy could take care of your business card printing service and hand them out to potential clients who can’t get in touch with you because you are “in a meeting”!
Solopress is one of the top UK business card printing service with a variety of stationery products for you and your business.
Meghan Mccain Twitter Photo Promoted A Not So Nice Image
Meghan McCain Twitter photo is presently the talk of the town. It was around 8 pm of Wednesday night when Meghan posted a photo of herself in her Twitter account. After several hours of posting Meghan find herself defending from the attacks, which includes ad hominem attacks accusing her of being a slut.

Meghan McCain is the daughter of U.S. Senator John McCAin who failed to make in it to the 2008 Presidential election. The present event included her to the pool of controversial people risking her public and private life. Her being in a Twitter war of words began specifically when she posted a photo of herself in a low cut black tank top. But after debating and arguing for few hours on Twitter, users ended apologizing. She stated that she did not mean to offend anyone with her photo and that she made a big mistake.
But on that chaos McCain looked like a victim of those judgmental moralists. It can be known that Meghan’s character is more on the liberal side than being a conservative. For an instance, when she took on the conservative radio talk show host Laura Ingraham who called her plus size while clipping at her views. During her appearance on the show The View, Meghan told her detractors to kiss his fat ass.
A simple photo does not necessarily reflect the attitude or the character of a certain person. The Twitter photo of Meghan McCain is not an indication that she is a person of low morals. That photo only showed that Meghan is also an ordinary lady that is entitled to do things that can make her happy.
