What Twitter Wants? Originality!
I’ve been on Twitter for some time now and I’ve been noticing some Twitter users that are really doing some mistakes (on my mind) that are so common nowadays. They don’t know what twitter wants, originality.
These kinds of guys don’t have the thing called originality plus they are doing a couple of things that are really meaningless and not so nice to look at.
So what are they doing? What have they been doing that I’m going to write about them now? There are only three things at most, but let me tell you all those five things.
1. Only Using People’s Quotes
I don’t really have anything against famous person saying some famous words and then get quoted. But some people are overdoing it. They just memorize some famous quotes or they go and search for it at Google, and they just tweet it.
There really are no problems, but when you quote some other person’s saying, you would want to do that only about once a day, and that’s max. Don’t overdo it.
It’s not good, really.
This world needs uniqueness; you might want to product your own quotes.
2. Constantly Pitching
The statistics are almost like 98, 9% of people on twitter are constantly tweeting stuffs, pitches, sales letters that provides a link that will get you to some really nasty capture pages that acts like, “Hey, put in your email in here and your name, please.”
That is like suicide. No one will like you doing that.
3. No Uniqueness At All, ReTweeting
The good thing when you’re doing RT is that you’re helping the person that tweets the tweet get famous, that’s good. You’re giving him/her credits for that.
I’m also some that does the RT but I know the line. I’m not going to RT like 9 times out of 10 tweets. That’s horrible; you look like a plagiarizer, an 8 years old kid that is cheating on exam. It is too easy to click on the un-follow button on Twitter.
That’s it for my shout out today, hope it’s useful for you and have a great day.
Affiliate Marketing – Twitter Revealed – Four Ways To Use Twitter To market Your product For Free
1. Build a Complete Profile. You want people to feel comfortable knowing who they are dealing with
and to do this you want to add a picture to your profile with a short bio and make sure you include
your web address where they can see what you have to offer them.
2. Build Your Following. Use twitter’s advanced search and put in keywords relating to your service and you will find twitter users who have mentioned those keywords in their profiles. Click on their
profile and “FOLLOW” them and they will get a notice that you have followed them and in return can also
decide to follow you. Now your developing a targeted audience.
3. Use Twitter Search Tool Each Day. Come up with a list of different keywords that relate to your unique service and search each day for different keywords and follow those people who make up your targeted audience. You will want to also look at who is following them and proceed to following those people as well because if they are following your initial person searched then you can presume they will also be interested in what you have to offer.
4. Tweet Every Day. Send out tweets to your followers to let them know you are a real person and not just a bot spamming twitter. PLEASE NO SPAMMING or twitter will delete your account and you will lose all the time you spent only to start again. You can send out simple tweets of the weather in your area or what your doing that day or any helpful links and info that may add value to your followers life. If your sending out links make sure your using a link shortening service like bit.Ly or one of your choice.
Its simple to use and promote on twitter and also a lot of fun. You can also learn a lot from other people
on twitter as well. Welcome it and jump in and build your business.
My Love Affair With Twitter
I have really been enjoying using Twitter for the past year. For those of you reading this article who may not be familiar with Twitter, it is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its subscribers to send and read messages. These messages are known as tweets. These tweets are text-based posts of up to only 140 characters delivered to the writer’s subscribers who are known as followers. I have been fortunate enough to have been blessed with over 12,000 followers so far. Compared to Ellen DeGeneres, who has 4,014,592 followers and Oprah Winfrey who has 2,921,789 followers at the time of this writing, that may not appear to be a lot, however, since the average twitter user has only 126 followers, 12,000 is a very good number indeed.
Twitter has changed a lot of lives for the better, mine included. Connecting with wonderful like minded people has become an important part of my day and so I decided to write about my experience below. I hope this piece puts a smile on your face and that you appreciate the very subtle marketing message contained within as well. Enjoy!
Twitter Love
When twitter is down, I feel myself frown, I’m sad and I’m blue, Oh, what on earth shall I do?
Will I see you today? Won’t you come out and play? Share your life, if you may? Would that be okay?
I see your sweet faces scrolling on by, and some days that makes me just want to cry.
Across oceans and rivers and mountains galore, I just want to know you as never before!
I want to connect with each one of you. But’ there’s only 140 and so what will I do?
I’m sitting here watching all the tweets scurry by, and I ‘m noticing things in the blink of an eye.
I see you unfollow. My heart’s filled with sorrow! Gone, with one click of a mouse. Oh, I think you’re a louse!
More followers than me? How can that be? Its obvious to see, Queen of Twitter is me!
Can I win back your love? With some help from above!
I’ll send you messages wrapped in a tweet. I’ll respect you, and honor you and I’ll be discreet.
From wherever I am and wherever I go, I ‘ll keep you informed. Inquiring minds want to know.
I will be witty and I will be sweet. And I will be charming and I won’t compete.
I will be kind and I will be true. And I will re-tweet all that you do.
And each time you list me, I’ll feel like you kissed me.
My numbers are growing, my tweets, they are flowing.
Follow me, follow me, follow me more! I promise that I’ll never be a big bore.
I’ll make you laugh and I’ll make you cry. And I’ll make you think and I’ll make you sigh.
I won’t try to sell to you. Okay, maybe a bit. But I’ll do it with class and I won’t be a twit.
Come greet me. Come tweet me. But please DON’T DELETE ME!
Twitter’s my friend. I am here to the end.
Incentivising Your Marketing Using Twitter
Many people struggle to understand Twitter at first, while many others often don’t use the micro-blogging service to its full potential. Let’s take a look at how you can improve your Twitter impact with incentives and other great practices.
Be the Face Firstly, it’s important to build credibility if you want to be taken seriously in any online marketing sphere. You can do this by portraying an image of professionalism but with a hint human personality – this trait is becoming common practice for marketers on the web.
Talk the Talk Join in the conversation and engage. Industry commentary is important, but make sure your input is noticed. Keep your tweets in the appropriate format, use the right keywords and be Twitter-coherent (i.e. release full press releases in 140 character segments and you’ll be the laughing stock of the Internet).
Don’t Repeat Yourself, Be Quoted Now that you have a bit of micro-blogging leverage with your credible image and complimenting tact, it’s time to get the platform and your followers to work for you.
If you hold competitions or polls, try to keep it relatively casual. Without detracting from the conversation, include the incentivised marketing tweet as part of the discussion rather than an interruption or distraction.
Get others to repeat your username or link by rewarding a limited number with prizes or freebies. This is easy to track, and will have your message (and more importantly your @username) spread far across the Twittersphere.
If prizes or physical incentives are a little out of your bracket, you can add incentives to your marketing messages by simply adding valuable information. Be it an interesting point to ponder, or a link to a multimedia resource such as a YouTube video or ‘how to’ PDF; you can create these resources yourself or simply sniff out the best of the bunch and share the link.
It’s all about getting your name out there. Try to include popular users by tagging them, or get their attention by retweeting one of their relevant messages. Offer an incentive to these popular Twitter users, and ‘piggy back’ on their audience. You’ll soon see your number of followers and/or traffic increasing.

You will be awful lonely if all you want to do is lay your message on everyone every minute of everyday. No one will care and you will alienate the small amount of followers that you have. The proper way to start in Twitter is by dedcating yourself to your community of followers. Quotes or snipets of information is always a good tweet. The two go hand in hand. Good tweets will be retweeted to other follower’s network of followers who will se and follow it back to who sent it and possibly follow you. How to Engage on Twitter
Twitter rules of engagement, although these may sound way too formal to those people who are active participants in the microblogging platform of Twitter, do exist.
First, Twitter is much easier to join than, for example, Facebook or LinkedIn because you can have a fully realized Twitter profile in moments as compared to the much more extensive information needed for a Facebook or LinkedIn profile to be fully realized.
Second, Twitter has perhaps less formal rules than many other social networking sites because you can follow anyone without asking permission as, for example, you must do on Facebook to friend someone or on LinkedIn to connect with someone.
Yet the true Twitter rules of engagement – the ones that make using Twitter so effective for promoting your business – are often the unwritten ones that you either glean from observing what others do or from reading blog posts and articles about effective Twitter use.
Here are my own recommendations for the 7 best rules of engagement on Twitter:
1. Your mindset should be on sharing valuable information first and promoting your own business second. This is how people get to know, like and trust you – and then possibly do business with you.
2. You should commit to being an active Twitter participant – posting one tweet every week or every other week does not indicate an active participant. While many active Twitter users take the weekends off, you can tell an active participant by whether he/she has several tweets in the current week.
3. You should try to answer questions to which you know the answers and can provide helpful information. For example, if you live in Chicago and someone tweets asking for a good Italian restaurant in the city, then provide a recommendation if you can.
4. It’s a good idea to respond if someone replies to you. It’s not necessary to tweet “you’re welcome” if someone replies “thank you”.” But if someone replies “Could you give me the link to the article to which you referred?” – do reply with the link to that article.
5. Switch a public conversation to exchanging DMs (direct messages) when it is clear that other people aren’t interested in what you and one other person are exchanging tweets about. FYI – Sometimes a private conversation follows from a public conversation. There are times a particular conversation should be private from the beginning.
6. When you tweet with a recommendation for an article or blog post, include the link to that article or blog post. FYI – It is very annoying to read a tweet about an interesting-sounding article or blog post and have no link to what is being talked about.
7. Tweet thanks to people for tweeting or retweeting links to your projects – this is simply good manners. And when you do so, include the link that was in the person’s tweet or retweet so that other people reading your thanks can click on the referred-to link.
To sum up the overall Twitter rules of engagement, with your mindset of sharing information – be polite, helpful and engaged in the community.
