Using Social Networking To Increase Your Affiliate Sales
Using Social Networking To Increase Your Affiliate Sales
Social networking sites are not just for teenagers anymore. In fact, social networking sites have evolved into something different altogether than what they once were. Today, social networking sites span the spectrum of demographic groups. While teenagers are still more apt in using them than older people, there are now niche social networking sites, which target people who all share some common interest, such as mountaineering or dating.
Now, in addition to teenagers and adults, social networks are increasingly being used by business groups. Many businesses are now infiltrating social networks to advertise in some subtle manner and then replicate their message through systems that are already available within the social network. Let us have a look at a few.
The most prominent social network is Facebook which boasts a membership base of 400 hundred million. If the affiliate product you are selling has a broad appeal, you may want to use Facebook to market your affiliate product, as you will be able to reach the largest audience quickly.
Now, there are a number of different ways in which you can market your affiliate product through Facebook. One way is to setup a profile and then begin adding friends to your list on a daily basis. Be careful here, because if you add friends too quickly you will get blocked or even banned, so do not add more than 25 friends per day. Depending on your goals, you may want to add a personal profile for yourself and then talk about your business and product on your page. Alternatively you may want to simply create a profile for your business and use that to market your affiliate product. Once you have had some experience marketing to the Facebook audience, you may want to consider looking at other social networking sites such as My Space and Friendster.
Twitter allows you to micro blog by sending short text messages of up to 140 characters in length. These are called “tweets” and can be sent to your friends and followers. This short format is the defining characteristic of the Twitter service. You can send your messages to include a link to your web site or affiliate product. There are also certain software programs that can be used to automatically add followers to increase your exposure.
Squidoo
Another place you will definitely want to look at is Squidoo. Unlike Facebook, My Space, Friendster, and other traditional social networking sites, Squidoo allows members to create a “lens”, instead of a “profile”. So, rather than writing about yourself, you can actually just write about products and services you are promoting.
Digg
Another prominent social networking site you will want to explore is Digg. It is distinctly different from Squidoo. Rather than allowing you to directly network with people or to directly sell affiliate products, it allows you to submit blog posts and vote on them. Once a post is submitted, it appears on a list in the category you selected. From there, it will either fall in ranking or rise in ranking depending on how people vote.
If you are having a hard time getting exposure, but you are a good writer or have good graphic design skills then this is your chance to shine. All you have to do is put together a high quality blog about your particular affiliate product topic. You can then tag it and ping it to Digg. If people like your entry, they will vote on it and keep you near the top. If you use graphics, a movie, or charts, you can expect more people to view and vote on your particular blog entry. Try to make your post as original as possible if you want to get recognised.
Whichever sites you decide to use, keep the following in mind:-
You can use social networks in a number of different ways. For instance, you could concentrate on developing a network of people who share a common interest and could potentially be interested in your specific affiliate product. Conversely, you could simply take some of your best writing on a particular topic you are covering and try to get it recognised on places like Digg, but without building any network whatsoever.
Last, you can use social networks such as Squidoo to sell affiliate products by developing high quality content and then inserting affiliate links. Whatever you do, make sure you select the right network for your particular affiliate products.

How To Promote Your Online Business Using Banner Advertising
How To Promote Your Online Business Using Banner Advertising
If you are looking for different ways to promote your online business and attract more customers to your web site, web banner advertising may be an option worth considering. Search engine advertising, or “pay per click advertising” as it is called, still remains the most popular website advertising solution. However, an alternative option to consider is to promote your website by utilising internet banner advertising. It is easier, cost effective and much cheaper than you think.
Banner advertising has the capability to provide more than just simple text based advertisements.
Banner advertising has the capability to provide more than just basic text based advertisements. With this type of advertising you can have your logo displayed along with animation or even eye catching video. A well designed web banner advertising campaign will attract more attention and draw more customers to your website. When you choose this style of advertising, you are able to produce a media rich display that is more pleasing to the eye.
Advertisers using the search engine advertising (pay per click) method, will only incur a cost when the potential customer clicks onto their advertisement and goes into their actual website. With internet banner advertising it works in exactly the same way. Depending on your industry and the products or services you wish to promote, it may actually be cheaper for you to choose a banner advertising campaign over the more traditional search engine advertising option. Of course, you will have to consider the banner design cost for your web banner, but the benefits of improved brand awareness tend to outweigh the cost.
Use a mix of different size banners with your banner advertising campaign.
With this type of advertising campaign there are many banner sizes to choose from. These range from leader boards to sky scraper sizes. Another great feature is that there is no limit to the amount of text that you can use within your banner display. Unlike pay per click advertising, where your words and characters are limited to a certain number. This in turn only allows you to promote a reduced number of products or services and limits your advertising capabilities.
With banner advertising, your website will come alive with vibrant colors and exciting advertisements. Attracting new customers and building a solid database of existing customers is very important. By using this form of advertising, you can successfully reach your advertising potential by drawing in thousands of customers to your website.
It can really be worth your time and effort to consider this type of internet advertising for your business. Developing your online business using web banner advertising is a smart choice for any website owner to make.

When I talk to my clients about social media, the reactions are all over the map. Some love it and use it, some groan, and some just admit that they are confused by it. But social media is an important part of building your transformational business, so you’ll want to put it on your ‘must do’ list of business activities.
Here are some tips to make it easier:
Remember that it’s social first. Seek to connect with people, be helpful and friendly. Just like relating to people off-line, a helpful, cheerful attitude makes people remember you – in a good way.
Contribute to and comment on other people’s posts. In Facebook, this is a comment. In Twitter, you can re-tweet (RT), or pass on what others have said, with a comment if you have the space. This is just good etiquette. Some helpful resources for understanding social media etiquette are http://tinyurl.com/ylhrp2c and http://tinyurl.com/y4l98nd.
Use social media to post information about your events. You can create an event on Facebook, and send a notice about it to your friends. You can use Twitter to tweet a link to a sign-up page for a teleclass or program, and you can send an invitation using Linkedin to any event.
Set a time limit, such as 10 minutes once or twice a day to get on, check what’s happening, and post and contribute. Spending hours and hours on social media, unless it’s your specialty, can interfere with your other business activities.
Set up an automatic feed from your blog posts to social media, so your information automatically gets shared without you doing it manually.
You can set up automated posts, or have your VA or assistant do this, so you maintain a constant presence with things such as inspirational quotes, links to your or other’s blog articles or videos, or other helpful tips. It takes some of the pressure off if regular posts are coming from an automated source. To set up automated posts, use FutureTweets.com, Hootsuite.com, SocialOomph.com, just to name a few. You’ll still get on and post personally, but this expands your influence (and perceived helpfulness) without expanding your time invested on a daily basis.
Have fun! Be sure to mix up the personal and professional posts, and don’t be afraid to let your personality show. People want to know who YOU are, and social media is a perfect way to help them do that.

4 Tips For Using Social Media More Effectively At Trade Show Exhibits
4 Tips For Using Social Media More Effectively At Trade Show Exhibits
Social media has taken over the world in which we live and revolutionized the way individuals and businesses communicate. It can be effectively used at trade show exhibits to enable companies to better demonstrate their products and services and help attendees be aware of special events, drawings, or games at their trade show booths. The following are a few tips from experts on how to best use these new networks to enhance your event experience.
Use Technology Every Day
In this age of digital networking, it would be detrimental for businesses to refrain from participating. Sitting on the sidelines of social media is not an option. It is crucial for companies taking part in trade show exhibits to make technology a part of their everyday life. Create a Twitter account or Facebook page to reach an unlimited amount of online shoppers and researchers. Another good idea is for a business to create a Wikipedia article or blog post to send out to contacts before attending exhibits. Also, companies could have a contest involving Twitter. For instance, sample terms could dictate that whoever can get a certain article or presentation re-tweeted at least three times before the show will get a special prize at the trade show booths. This will increase the interest in your products and create a marketing buzz.
Live Audience Polling
Mobile technology has reached a point where you can receive nearly instant feedback about anything posted. By connecting live audience polling to these events, show exhibitors can quickly learn about the effectiveness of their trade show exhibits. Consider asking one or two questions of booth attendees and providing them with instructions on how they can quickly text or reply on Twitter to your questions. This feedback would be very valuable and also immediate.
Decide Which Social Media Site To Use
Marketing efforts and social media should go hand in hand. But which social media outlets should be used? It would be highly valuable to have an idea of which sites your target market utilizes before the trade show exhibits’ opening. Thanks to new developments, there are websites that enable you to enter the email address of prospective attendees and find out a list of all the social media networks that that client is connected to. Once you do this for all your potential clients, your business will have a better idea of which social media websites to affiliate with.
The Right Technology Tools
Video is often used at trade show booths to display product demonstrations and attendees’ reactions to the booth. However, the event environment can be very noisy. Look for products like the flip video camera that also has an external microphone hookup. This will allow you to avoid being drowned out by the noisy crowds of trade show exhibits.
If companies immerse themselves in technology every day, use live audience polling, determine the best social media sites to use, and embrace technology that will specifically work well at trade events, they will be more successful at using social media effectively.
15 Reasons for Using Social Media Marketing
15 Reasons for Using Social Media Marketing
#1 – Create a community around your business
A business with a happy load of customers can create a busy, popular Facebook page or Twitter account, which in turn shows new customers that people are pleased with what you do and you can be trusted. Your fans may turn out to be evangelists who will shout from the rooftops about how great you are (assuming, of course, that you ARE great… better make sure you are!).
#2 – Build a personal rapport with customers
Speaking to a real person encourages trust and gives your company a down-to-earth personality. Showing you’re not just an abstract corporate entity can be really important in creating trust and transparency. Have fun, amuse and engage your customers, find out what they like or dislike, what they need from you and think of you, speak to likeminded people who enjoy your brand, show your thanks personally. Get involved.
#3 – Use as an effective new customer service technique
Instead of being directed through a mind-numbing labyrinth of automated answering services, or having to wait for an email reply, or being kept on hold until their heads explode, customers can have almost instant access to a business representative via Social Media sites such as Facebook or Twitter. Your feedback, or any resolution of complaints of problems can be public if you want them to be, showing other customers just how wonderful you are.
#4 - A forum for discussion
What’s everyone’s favourite subject? ME. (Well, not me, but you, or them… oh you know what I mean…) Engage and empower your customers and let them make your ears burn. A blog, a forum, Facebook wall, group or Twitter page can act as the perfect place for customers and clients to discuss products, services and general interest in your company. Joining in with the conversation and entertaining your viewers can increase popularity and make your customers feel involved.
#5 – Injecting some fun into your business
If people like the content you’re posting, they will re-post, re-tweet, link, share and spread the word further than you can imagine. Give them good reason to do so. Competitions, interesting stories, observations, polls, links and humour can all keep customers interested and engaged and have them coming back regularly for more.
#6 – Provide a powerful word-of-mouth network
Creating unique, compelling content that users will want to share with their friends is key. People are much more likely to trust a recommendation from someone they know than just blindly believing advertising marketing, however clever it may be. Getting your content on as many platforms as possible increases the likelihood that it will reach your target audience and beyond.
#7 – Give your company a dynamic, modern aspect
Social Media is here to stay, and is only going to develop further, so you might as well get on board. We’re in the 21st century here, people! It’s no longer purely a social network for sharing how bored you are at work or the latest picture of a friend’s bonny baby, it’s an essential platform for marketing and business today. You can reach further, increase visibility, strengthen reputation and show you can move with the times. Throw away those argyle socks and get yourself an iPad.
#8 – Target a relevant audience and reach new demographics
We have ways of making them talk (about you)… And tools to help you target the people who will be genuinely interested in your brand, who will then pass on your message to others, creating a chain along which your information is passed. With Social Media Marketing, you can also reach new demographics that you previously could not, or perhaps discover new groups of people who you hadn’t even considered to be targets.
#9 – Monitor your brand, its reputation and its successes and weaknesses
Analytical tools can help you work out which areas are working and which need more help. There are so many different types of Social Media that it’s possible to approach your campaign in various different ways, with different media, to target different customers. And with the openness of opinions and feedback it is very easy to see whether people are happy or not.
#10 – Increase visibility, increase SEO success
If you build it, they will come… The more places your company can be found online, the more re-tweets, the more information shared, the more your content is linked to, the higher you will rank with search engines, giving you a more trusted reputation and ensuring more traffic into your site. Party time. Excellent.
#11 – A place to showcase new products, promotions, advertisements and business ideas
With the added bonus of immediate viewing, feedback and opinions from either your peers or your customers, you can get instant results from new ideas and promotions. Why not hold a poll, ask for customer suggestions and get everyone involved? A little snooping will also allow you to compare with and discover new insight into competitors’ work.
#12 - An easy, cheap marketing strategy that requires very little IT knowledge
If Grandma is tweeting, there’s no excuse why you’re not. Anyone can learn to use the platforms of Social Media Marketing, though it does need careful planning to ensure success. This is the beauty of Social Media – it doesn’t require a huge amount of computer expertise to conquer, and you can use existing programs like YouTube, Flickr, Slideshare etc to showcase your videos and photos, and simple blog software such as Tumblr or WordPress to create a professional looking site, without having to invest in expensive and complicated software.
#13 – A media that is used by “the critical mass” of the population
Wowsers. 400 million Facebook users worldwide! Apparently, 64% of internet users in the UK have a Social Media profile – social networking is currently insanely popular, used by millions daily, often multiple times daily, to keep in contact, keep updated and discover new things that interest them. Those who aren’t connected are likely to become so in the future, in one form or another. Just like email has superseded the letter and even the phone call in recent times, Social Media is going to take precedence in years to come as the most common form of technical communication. Er, probably want to sign up for that account then.
#14 – A variety of platforms to choose from according to a business’ needs
No matter the nature of your business, there is a form of Social Media for you, be it text dominated, image or video led, or with an emphasis on community and communication. A combination of all of these can be an effective marketing strategy, and open up your company to new forms of advertising and increased brand awareness.
#15 – It’s going to take over the world!
Seriously. It will have dominated the human race way before we get flying cars and robot housekeepers. Even itty bitty local businesses have websites, Facebook profiles and tweet daily about their new batch of cupcakes. You can talk to Steven Fry about his new haircut. You can get your phone to tell you how to get to Timbuktu by skateboard and where’s a good place for a latte when you get there. It might be scary, it might be overwhelming, but it’s big, it’s clever, and it’s here to stay. So get on board!

Using Social Networks To Attract Highly Qualified Leads
Using Social Networks To Attract Highly Qualified Leads
I have met the most amazing people through social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, Twitter and Blogger.
Social Sites are great ways to keep in touch with friends as well as a great way to make new friends. Social Media is also a wonderful way to generate very highly targeted leads for your business.
I am building my home based business without spending money on advertising. I simply build relationships with people and make new friends. I don’t know about you, but it sure is a fun way to grow any business.
This wasn’t always the case. Yes, I was sucked in to all the hype like many others. I tried many of the old school methods including buying overpriced leads of people who didn’t want to hear from me. I also did the cold calls. Yuck.
My mission is to help others learn about the power of attraction marketing and how incredible it is to no longer be chasing prospects. It is so much fun when people tell me that they now have people chasing them. Now this is cool!
The key to success with any opportunity is consistency.I reapeat you must be consistent with your marketing if you expect to see any type of increase in your positive cash flow! That is why we still see fast food franchise commercials when we all know the top three by heart.
This will briefly touch on the different methods of marketing available to you. There is two major avenues of approach. Online and Offline advertisements. Off line has some very exceptional advantages and can really explode the amount of cash your opportunity can create for you. Whoever you join in a home based opportunity will need to understand the proper way to use offline advertisements and be willing to show you the easy way to do it properly. Marketing online has many numerous niche facets. This post will be unable to cover each in minute detail. There is free advertisement and paid ads as well.

Using Social Media To Promote Your Brand
Using Social Media To Promote Your Brand
Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites are not only for teenagers. You can effectively use them to promote your brand. They are valuable and they are free.
If you are not connected to social media, you may lose your own clients and potential clients to those companies that are using social media to increase their businesses.
If you are confused about which social media sites to choose, it all depends on what your brand is. The information below explains why social media is so important to your business, not matter what you are promoting.
Most cost-effective online advertising
Currently, the most popular online media sites that are being used for business don’t cost anything. They are Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn (LinkedIn has an upgraded version that does cost money but the basic version is free). “Free” is definitely more cost-effective than spending money on online advertising techniques such as Pay Per Click or banner ads.
You can get noticed by targeted people whom you want as your customers
Social media has been aspects that are useful, including being broken up into groups of people with common interests. If you join groups based on your brand, you will be immediately connecting with your specific target audience, who will hopefully become customers. This can pay off in increased sales for you.
Forming your own community
After you have connected with the appropriate people on social media sites, you will be able to form your own groups with very specific interests. The result of this can be a niche market for your brand (goods and services) where you can share your knowledge with other members of your group. The members can become loyal connections and, eventually, loyal customers.
You can use social media to position yourself as a subject matter expert (SME)
If you share your knowledge free of charge with people who belong to your social media groups, those people will respect and trust you. The positive result of this is that those same people may eventually become loyal customers and may also bring in other potential customers. As an SME, you may also be invited to give blog interviews. The interviews will give you free exposure for your brand and thus, more free promotion for your expertise.
Social media can help you to find cross-promotional partners
What would generally be considered as direct competition in the off-line world is not thought of in the same way in the online world. It is common for online competitors to partner so that they can offer superior goods and services to their combined list of clients.
The clients are usually very receptive to the partnerships, especially since they are introduced to the partner from someone who they have already done business with and whom they trust. The partnership benefits both partners because you both get access to the other’s list (names and email addresses of clients) and greatly expand your repository of clients.
Social media allows you to have global reach
Considering that the world is now a global marketplace, why not have easy access to that market? Many social media sites have global reach. Wouldn’t it be great to promote your brand around the world and spark interest in your products and services on such a large scale?
You can announce updates of your business activities with a few clicks
With your vast connections on social media, you can let so many people know about what new offerings you have through your business. It is very simple to keep your clients and potential clients up to date on everything going on in your business. There are even online applications that allow you to update your status across several of your social media accounts at the same time.
In summary
You will find many more opportunities to promote your brand, goods, and services once you are connected to social media. You will start to wonder after that how your business ever did without it.

3 Easy Steps to Maximize MLM Recruiting Systems Using Twitter
3 Easy Steps to Maximize MLM Recruiting Systems Using Twitter
Using social media to boost MLM recruiting systems is the hottest trend in marketing today. In the previous article, we discussed using Facebook to maximize your MLM lead generation. In this article, we will discuss using Twitter for MLM recruiting.
Let’s begin with the numbers—why should you spend your time and efforts recruiting on Twitter? As of 2010, Twitter has over 106 million users sending nearly 55 million “tweets” (status updates) per day. Twitter’s search engine gets over 600 million queries each day, a number the site predicts will reach 1 billion in just a few months. Faced with these statistics, it’s easy to see why so many marketers are tapping into Twitter’s vast potential. Given that using Twitter is free, it’s obvious that you should give it a try for your own MLM marketing purposes.
Some entrepreneurs find Twitter more intimidating than Facebook or MySpace because it limits you to 140 characters per tweet. Many marketers find this brevity overwhelming, or they reason that they can’t do proper recruitment through such a limited channel. By following these 3 easy steps, you can recruit effectively through Twitter, reaching a potential audience of millions in just a few seconds.
1. Set Up Your Account
When setting up your account, make sure you use relevant keywords to help other people find you. Be sure to add these relevant keywords to your bio and remember to add your location if it’s important for your business. You can search online for a free Twitter designer program that can help you customize your Twitter page with your company logo, background, and other important information.
2. Attract Followers
You can begin by searching for other people to follow; Twitter will synch up with your email account and help you track down your email contacts, which is a great way to get started. You can also synch your Twitter account with your Facebook page, allowing your Facebook fans to follow you on Twitter. Use Twitter yellow pages to find people with similar interests so as to build your following. Include a link with your Twitter account link at the bottom of business emails and on your website as well.
3. Send Tweets
Now that you’ve set up your account and have started adding followers, it’s time to begin tweeting. Effective tweeting is accomplished when you offer something simple, relevant, and fresh to your audience. Keep it professional; save the personal stuff (jokes, etc) for your personal Twitter account. You can update as often as you wish, but only update when you have something real to share; in other words, don’t update just for the sake of updating. When tweeting, follow these simple steps:
Comment on other people’s tweets (reply – @) when they offer something that intrigues you;
Share up-to-the-minute industry news, tips and techniques;
Help any of your followers who have questions or need assistance;
Retweet any interesting tweets or news stories that you want to share with your audience;
Ask for feedback from your followers;
Don’t forget to promote your company in the process.
